Ian

Veterinary Assistant

My name is Ian and I was born and raised in Mountain View, California. My family and I moved to Arizona when I was 12, and it’s been home ever since. I chose the veterinary profession not only because of my love for animals, but because I understand how much they mean to us and the important role they play in our lives and communities. Animals need us just as much as we need them, and I’m passionate about being someone who can provide that care with compassion and dedication.

I graduated from Valley Christian High School in Chandler, where I first got the opportunity to volunteer at a veterinary practice. That experience confirmed my desire to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. I began interning there in high school and continued into my college years. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science from the University of Arizona.

I chose to work at Horizon Animal Hospital for more reasons than I can count, but most of all, because of the pride the team takes in delivering top-tier care. The use of advanced technology to get faster, more accurate results—often beyond what’s available at other clinics—truly sets Horizon apart, and I’m proud to be part of it.

My family means everything to me. I have supportive parents, a twin brother (we’re 22—but he chose a different path and now works as a supervisor in the aviation industry), and our beloved rescue dog, Casper. He’s a Maltese mix with a disability that affects his legs, but it doesn’t slow him down one bit—he loves swimming and chasing toys like any other pup. I’m forever grateful for my family and their role in helping me get to where I am today.
