Before becoming a veterinarian. Dr. Wendy Patterson spent more than 20 years working in the fields of human resource management and business management. During that same period she also owned two different horse farms where she bred Arabian show horses.
Dr. Patterson was accepted into the School of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University in 2002 with only an Associates of Science degree. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Medicine in 2004 and her doctorate in 2006.
In 2007 Wendy relocated to Arizona to escape the Michigan winters and worked for a busy, multi-doctor practice in Glendale for four years. In January, 2012 Dr. Patterson agreed to join Horizon Animal Hospital. Her special interests include senior pet wellness, allergies and dermatology.
Dr. Patterson currently lives in Scottsdale with her two Australian Shepherds, Boomer and Shiloh and a Half-Arabian Gelding named Piccard. Her favorite activities outside of work include hiking with her dogs, singing in her church choir, reading and riding Piccard.
