Groomer
Karen grew up in Dayton, Ohio with a family that loved all kinds of animals from dogs, cats, and rabbits to birds. The joy from early childhood helped her discover her passion for pets, which has led her to a dream career of dog grooming for over 40 years.
Karen graduated from the American Institute of dog grooming in 1978 and continued her journey to her new home in Scottsdale, Arizona. Her passion for the art of scissoring inspired her to attend several grooming seminars to advance her skill set and education.
She has worked at several different grooming shops where she focused on her craft and specialty in scissoring custom haircuts for every breed. One of her biggest achievements was developing a successful grooming department at a local Scottsdale Veterinarian Hospital for 11.5 years.
Karen enjoys grooming at Horizon Animal Hospital and looks forward to meeting all the new fur babies. Her greatest reward is to see her client’s happy faces as they pick up their dogs. She is so grateful for being able to practice her love for art, design, and creativity through a successful career in grooming.
